AUDE 7170 - Vestibular Assessment & Treatment II


2.5 credit hours

The purpose of this class is to expand on the foundation of the anatomy, physiology, pathology, and diagnos-tic evaluation of the balance system within the scope of practice of an audiologist. Students will be able to perform electronystagmography and videonystagmog-raphy (ENG/VNG) upon successful completion of this course. They will have an understanding of computer-ized dynamic posturography (CDP) and whole body rotational testing (WBRT). The students will have a scientific and clinical background of vestibular rehabilita-tion. The students will have the ability to identify and triage patients with vestibular disorders into appropriate therapy programs. Students will be instructed on the correct administration of VRT protocols and accurate evaluation of treatment efficacy. Includes laboratory requirement. (2.5 credits: 2 credit lecture, 0.5 credit lab)
