Specialties- TMD: This module provides the knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose, understand, and manage Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD). Key topics include identifying the various classifications of TMD, exploring its etiology (causes) and epidemiology(prevalence), and mastering muscle anatomy and palpative principles for effective examination. The curriculum goes into the differences between myofascial pain and
myalgia, as well as the mechanism of referred pain. Participants will also learn the design and purpose of a stabilization splint and discuss various TMD treatment options. Finally, the course emphasizes the crucial relationship of TMD to Restorative Dentistry and Orthodontics, enabling a holistic approach to patient care.
