Students examine the structure, organization, and operation of the U.S. healthcare system, including major delivery models, financing and payment mechanisms, and workforce considerations. Learners analyze key issues such as competition, regulation, technology, access, quality, primary care, long-term care, mental health, and ethical considerations. The course includes a fieldwork assignment that students complete in person or virtually within a healthcare organization.
